i'm looking for a nice enclosure.

Hello,

I'm trying to build a small / portable device by myself. It's built
with modules. There could be the internet stick to make phone calls
and/or connect to Internet,the GPS module,the USB 7" touch screen and
a portable USB battery. The main board is the Beagle Board rec C4. The
dimensions of this device are :

a) beagle board -> 8 cm x 8 cm
b) portable USB battery -> width = 12 cm ; height = 9 cm
c) 7" touch screen panel -> width = 17 cm ; height = 11 cm ; depth = 4
cm
I
'm looking for a nice enclosure to put these components inside. The
total dimensions of this enclosure should be : width = 23 cm ; height
= 19 cm ; depth = 4 cm. A nice idea could be to get a digital photo
frame like this :

but without the electronical components inside to keep the price down.
Any idea ?

You may want to design your own using services such Ponoko / Vectorealism. Acrylic should be safe because the Beagleboard never gets very hot; you can use epoxy to join the panels.

Take a look at this Open Source project on SourceForge:

It has a battery, LCD display and other components. While it is
targeted to the xM, the idea is to use the same circuit board layout
for the C4 (and just extend it out for the slightly larger xM. This

I was planning to make a custom enclosure using something like Ponoko.

They were 35 each but it seems that hey have increased to 100 for a sample, anyway you can see this link and search for similar suppliers:

http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/index.html is awesome, but not cheap.

Curious, what 7" screen are you using? I've been googling and wondering what would work. Also if there are any software driver issues that need to be dealt with.
