Interested in GSOC

Hi,
I am an undergrad computer science student interested in doing Google
Summer of Code. The Beagle Board piqued my interest as I am interested
in electronics and cs.

Anyway, what do I need to do to prepare an application? Do I need to
have prior experience using the Beagle Board? I have my eyes on a
couple of projects from the wiki, especially the thermostat project
and the commodore 64 emulator idea, especially the later, as I have
knowledge of the cpu used in the commodore.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Bryce - have you heard from any of the mentors yet off board or
in the rss feed?

We're glad that you are interested to apply for Google Summer of Code
with Beagleboard. Certainly prior Beagleboard experience is not
needed. Some experience with C is helpful.
Here is a link to the general GSoc Q&A page that has the general info
on how to fill out the application.

To get started, engaging w/ one of the mentors (or several) through
some interaction on details of your idea will be a good next step. I
recommend that you expand you idea a little bit regarding your
commodore 64 emulator since this is in the list of ideas without some
detail. For the thermostat - Todd Fischer - may be a good person to
bounce details with to hone down the project idea and get the
application started.
