That am69 might be okay too. I have learned my lesson with ti, read ti forums first before buying…
I mean, it seems tantalizingly close… there is already some extent of supporting AM62 as of Mesa 22 and IMG PowerVR DRM driver now included in Linux kernel >=6.8 which works perfectly… IMG has reported full Vulkan conformance in “local runs” but unclear on timetable for roll-out. Hopefully it’s soon enough so I won’t have to actually learn Vulcan
Yes, this is critical!
In my humble opinion, I think you are not asking the right question. Reliability wise, BB have been way ahead of the competition, as they are built using industrial purpose hardware. TI specifically, but not exclusively. Do not focus on BBB wireless boards, as these tend to be hard to find. But since you don’t appear to be requiring visualization, as others said in the forums, the BB green, and, in my opinion, the blue, could also be of use. Specially since you can find these at very good prices, with Wireless.
But again, this are what I believe to be the wring questions. If you re planning to base your platform on the beagle, then, I understand a custom design could me more useful. All the schematics, board layouts, and chips can be ordered and assembles, independently. Making the availability of boards not important. The In these same websites you mention, you can procure the OSD3358 with is the chip that powers the BBB wireless board you long for. You could even opt for a version with more ram, if this is something you believe could be useful. Changing a bit the channel, you aso metijones the raspberry pi hats. More specifically, sensor hats. If any of these tickle your fancy, or comply with your specific requirements, then you can also go for the BeagleY-AI. This boards, you can lose modify and order tailored to your very unique specifications. The pins are compatible with the 40 pin header on the RPi, so adapting these hats shouldnt be much of a hassle. This could also be a solution to your availability conundrum, since this board is causing quite a stir, and people are ordering a lot. It just came out, so it should be in stock for a lot longer, and parts are relatively new to market, so you could order them and stock them, make your own, order your custom units, and so on.
I hope my words are of use to you. I really believe the Beagleboard family is where you can find the solution to your hardware needs. If you have questions, I encourage you to sing up to the Discord Beagleboard community. There you will find a VERY active and willing group of people. You can find Jasson kridner, Andreri, Robert C Nelson, and a bunch of board members and community enthusiast who can, and will, provide very helpful answers.
