I am wondering, on the current beagle board, is it possible to plug in
a USB memory key to the OTG port and save a file onto the USB key? and
how?
Thanks

Make sure you have
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardFAQ#USB_OTG_connection
and a recent kernel, e.g. from Koen's demo images.
Then plug in the USB memory key and it should work.

Some users (including myself) have had issues plugging a USB flash
drive into a hub after booting Linux. (In my case, I think I have a
power supply issue where plugging in the flash drive is glitching
+5V.)
If you have this problem, try plugging in the flash drive before
booting Linux.
