Is it possible to have an uart1 and uart2 enabled simultaneously?

Is it possible to have an uart1 and uart2 enabled simultaneously?

Yes:

https://github.com/beagleboard/bb.org-overlays

sudo sh -c "echo 'BB-UART1' > /sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots"

sudo sh -c "echo 'BB-UART2' > /sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots"

Regards,

Thank you very much
.

I tried using these commands but I am getting an error saying
“sh: 1: cannot create /sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots: Directory nonexistent”.

Works just fine with the latest image..

http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack_Debian#Debian_Image_Testing_Snapshots

Thus you have something old.. (you never stated what version you where
running: uname -r)

Regards,

Can the same be done with UART0 and any other UART at the same time? Because I am using the CAN bus on UART0 which is supposedly the default UART used by the CAN cape. So I have to use UART0 for sure with any other additional UART at the same time.

version is

3.8.13-bone47

It is still not working for me. I am now trying to install latest Debian image and then follow the same procedure.
