Kernel Panic on Ping Request

Kind of a wierd issue I'm having and wondered if anyone could point me
in the right direction.

I built a new custom kernel/u-boot/etc... and it works great untill I
try to ping the beagleboard-xm revA, where it has a Kernel Panic - not
syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt.

I think it has something to do with my initial uBoot config, and
that's what I'm checking now, but I just wondered if anyone else had
come across the same issue or if someone could give me a poke in the
right direction. For now I'm just having it ignore all requests with:
sysctl -w net.ipv4.icmp_echo_ignore_all=1.

Thanks.

It might be related to the problem I have on Rev C with packed data on
ICMP reply, someone suggested this patch to me but I have not tried it
yet:
