LCD interface boards Options

Posted this earlier, but I think I may have just replied to Keith
instead of the group, so I'll try again...

It seems to me that the signals for the LCD connection on the
BeagleBoard are almost exactly the same as the signals put out by the
GumStix Overo boards...

Which is logical since I think I remember seeing somewhere that the
GumStix are based upon the BeagleBoard architecture.

If that is the case, then shouldn't it be fairly trivial to create a
cable to match signals between the BeagleBoard rev C LCD output port
and the GumStix Palo 43 add-on board to get LVDS LCD connections as
well as 4-wire resistive touchscreen control?

Seems like we may be re-inventing the wheel unless someone can make an
add-on for the Beagle that's less than $59...

Hi Ashley,

You approach would work, except that I think it for many persons would be
easier to redo the wheel than creating an adapter cable/board with the 0.4mm
pitch Gumstix connectors :slight_smile: One second point: The Palo43 board doesn't use
LVDS but parallel RGB for the add-on LCD. The only stuff the Palo43 boards
does it to convert the signals from 1.8V to 3.3V...
