LCD7 with BBB

I have just received my BBB A5C and LCD7 A3 and cannot get the system to boot past the BB logo on the LCD screen.
The board works perfectly well when NOT connected to the LCD7 (although I cannot seem to SSH into it, but that’s another matter).
I have cut the MMC pins as recommended on the LCD cape and am not getting any eMMC errors.

The boot dialog I get is:

Uncompressing Linux… done, booting the kernel.
