Mainline kernel status

Hi,

I am looking for a board we want to use in a automation project. One of the critical features (on software side) is the mainline kernel support. One of the boards we are looking at is the BBB.

I found that Robert Nelson is maintaining patches to get the latest mainline running. https://github.com/RobertCNelson/linux-dev
What is the status of pushing the patches to the mainline kernel?

Is there somewhere an overview what is currently working in the latest kernel? Also what drivers will come in next version or are being worked on?

Thank you
Markus

Good question.

Did I asked the wrong/false question earlier as nobody could/wants to answer it?

Is there somewhere an overview what is currently working in the
latest kernel?

The answer to the above will answer this I think.

Also what drivers will come in next version or are
being worked on?

Might be easier to answer what tech do you need and then ask
if those capabilities are available in mainline kernel.

Headless setup with Ethernet, USB, eMMC (storage and booting), RTC as a cape
Later maybe as an option: display with touchscreen
