There’s an online seminar on Wednesday (02:00 pm EST) on ST’s new 5 Mp image sensors with Mainline drivers, DT, publicly available full technical data sheets and excellent image quality - I reckoned I’d mention it for anyone in the community looking at image sensor integration (camera integration):
Image sensor integration in the past often involved fighting with poor quality image sensors, patchy or non-existent driver support and secret data sheets - it was extremely difficult and a fairly horrible experience - having Mainline Linux drivers, DT (Device Tree) examples and the full technical data sheets publicly available makes an enormous difference 
.
The current ST image sensors and camera modules have 1.5 Mp resolution RGB and monochrome variants (global shutter) with a planned RGB-IR variant and give exceptionally good image quality for image sensors of this resolution. This online seminar will give more information about ST’s planned 5 Mp RGB and RGB-IR image sensors.
