New beaglebone image for testing

Hi,

Could people experiencing the eth0 problem give http://dominion.thruhere.net/koen/angstrom/beaglebone/Angstrom-Cloud9-IDE-eglibc-ipk-v2011.12-core-beaglebone-2011.12.12.img.gz a try?

I tracked the bug down to permission problems, but the problem is intermittent so I'd like a few more data points.

No new packages were added, this is purely updates and bugfixes, a future update will hopefully include a fully functioning JDK and a graphical interface for people with DVI/LCD/etc capes.

regards,

Koen

Hi,

Could people experiencing the eth0 problem give http://dominion.thruhere.net/koen/angstrom/beaglebone/Angstrom-Cloud9-IDE-eglibc-ipk-v2011.12-core-beaglebone-2011.12.12.img.gz a try?

And one with another connman fix:

http://dominion.thruhere.net/koen/angstrom/beaglebone/Angstrom-Cloud9-IDE-eglibc-ipk-v2011.12-core-beaglebone-2011.12.13.img.gz

Sorry for the noob question. Is this an image of the whole SD card or
just the root partition? I assume that I can just copy it with dd.

Here is the easy way...

Thank you - eth0 is now coming up automatically.

Bingo! Ethernet is working using the 2011.12.13 version.

Thanks
Mark

Thanks for the build Koen

I tried the 12.13 image, but the eth is still not up. My board probably has hardware problem. It says:

[ 1.955254] EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): re-mounted. Opts: (null)
[ 3.912132]
[ 3.912143] CPSW phy found : id is : 0x7c0f1
[ 3.919025] PHY 0:01 not found
[ 3.938896] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready

Not sure what to do.

My “rtl8187” USB WIFI is working with this image though.

Thanks again
-Thanh

try changing the ethernet cable, the bone is quite picky

Koen,

The 12.13 image fixed my eth0 problem as well. Thanks!

Dan.

Hi All

I am looking at using a beagle board for a project I am working on.

Can the beagle board run ubuntu 10.04, play mpeg4 video.

Joseph

Yes, see http://www.elinux.org/BeagleBoard#Ubuntu. I really don't know how well mpeg4 video will play though.
