New to the Beagle. Need some reading material!

Hi everyone, I just started reading up on the Beagleboard this week.
I had read a bit about it like a month ago. I'm really interested in
buying one, but before I do, I want to find out what im up against for
getting it up and running.

I'm trying to find some write-up, or how-to guide, for getting these
boards up and running with a linux distro. I'm fairly Linux-savvy. I
mostly want to know how I can upload the linux distro to it. (is it
easier than i think, can i just plug it into my XP machine, and
upload files to it like a normal Mass-storage USB device? or is SSH
or Telnet the way to do it?)

Im going to be making a plastic enclosure for it (a generic ABS
plastic Project-box), and take apart a USB gamepad, and rig up the
buttons to the Enclosure's top surface, and put a small LCD panel on
it as well. I've got that all figured out.

Can anyone point me to a decent write-up, if one exists? Even a
project journal of some kind, for someone who has their beagleboard up
and running. Im trying to do as much reading as I can before I
clutter this forum with all my noobish questions. but this
Beagleboard is so new, that decent documentation is hard to find.

Thanks

Hmm, I don't think that it's too hard to find documentation.

E.g. see at the right side of

the "Top Resources" section.

To start with SW I propose

http://elinux.org/BeagleBoard

http://code.google.com/p/beagleboard/w/list

and for HW

http://www.beagleboard.org/uploads/Beagle_HRM_B4.pdf

Hth,

Dirk

Btw.: Jason: What do you think to replace "Issue Tracker" link in "Top Resources" section with a link to Google wiki instead and move IssueTracker to the sub-page?

Thanks alot. ill read all of that tonight. i guess i didnt do enough
looking around. Kinda hard to find that info, with the Beagleboard's
own website having not too much info itself.

A decent community forum would help things along, for noobs like me.
