new uni period in India

Is it just me or has a new period started and all the lazy students are hitting the interwebs without knowing about google?

Sorry, but no it isn’t just you.

Gerald

May be, it's time for some "guidelines for posting" on the group
notice board! This can be included in the welcome mail as well.

Just a thought.

Thank you,
Johnson

Yep. It is the internship / summer-project season. And yes, there are few things to fix in our education system. However for every 1 post that causes some frustration here, statistically speaking, I can say that there are quite a few, who are quietly working away and doing their homework, as it should be done.

The utter noob guides need updating.

I'm about to wind up with my University.
I might have time to do some stuff.
Have to make a wiki about our Final Year Project too.

Received an OK from our supervisor to open-source it.
Its a full Diagnostic ECG Machine powered by the Beagle-XM

Hardware/Software. Both are going to be fully open sourced.

Please review Frequently Asked Questions - BeagleBoard (and
http://beagleboard.org) and suggest changes.

Great. Best way to get the word out (only a partial list):
1) Create a blog and include a set of links to the source (hopefully a
git repository -- github.com and gitorious.org are nice for this and
might even suffice for a home page)
2) Register the project at beagleboard.org/project, including the RSS
feed to your blog.
3) Provide a blog post announcing your activities.
4) Send an e-mail to this list with a link to your blog post.

Advantages:
a) beagleboard.org will have a link to your project.
b) the mailing list archives will have a link to your project.
c) your blog will allow you to update everyone about changes to your project.
d) I'll add your blog to the beagleboard.org rss feed picked up on the
website, facebook, linkedin and twitter.

Good luck and I can't wait to hear about your project.

Hello,

I haven't been able to get the ethernet to work with linux 2.6.35.9 patched with Xenomai. I've been in menuconfig turning on anything and everything related to networking and usb and still nothing.

David

Any chance is your board and xM C? and do they include the patch for it?

"dmesg | grep Beagle" would give some hints..

Regards,

Hello,

The response I get is:

root@beagleboard:~# dmesg | grep Beagle
Machine: OMAP3 Beagle Board

The sticker on the bbxm says B. I'm going to assume this means revision. I'll look for a patch.

I take it the rootfs makes no difference to the networking ability. I have also patched the kernel to enable spi.

It looks like whoever created that patch set hasn't included the xm
detection stuff yet..
