"No space left on device" installing Debain on a Beaglebone Black

I connected a serial console to the onboard uart because I kept getting the dreaded all flashing leds thing on a fresh install of the latest debian image.

It appears the Black is running out of space on /dev/mccblk1p1 with the following error:

Copying: /dev/mmcblk0p1 → /dev/mmcblk1p1
[ 52.056816] EXT4-fs (mmcblk1p1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts: (null)

rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at receiver.c(393) [receiver=3.1.1]

Are you flashing a "4GB" image onto a "2GB" device?

Regards,

Do you have to select the console version or go to an older image. " Debian 8.3 2016-02-11 2GB SD console "
The only others seem to be older versions.

Dave

There's a 2GB lxqt image here:

https://rcn-ee.net/rootfs/bb.org/testing/2016-07-18/

Regards,

Tried bone-debian-8.5-lxqt-2gb-armhf-2016-07-18-2gb.img.xz and it’s been stuck on the Cylon Leds for over and hour with the following being the last message on the console:

sfdisk: If you created or changed a DOS partition, /dev/foo7, say, then use dd(1)
to zero the first 512 bytes: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/foo7 bs=512 count=1

I am using a bench power supply which is capable of 6 amps at 5v, but it’s only drawing 350ma. So it can’t be improper power. Nothing else except the serial console is connected.

Thoughts?

FYI: I loaded Ubuntu and it worked fine. Using this image:

[https://rcn-ee.com/rootfs/2016-06-09/flasher/BBB-eMMC-flasher-ubuntu-16.04-console-armhf-2016-06-09-2gb.img.xz](https://rcn-ee.com/rootfs/2016-06-09/flasher/BBB-eMMC-flasher-ubuntu-16.04-console-armhf-2016-06-09-2gb.img.xz)

Think it could just be the way the init-eMMC-flasher-v3.sh is written. I guess I will go with that for now and keep an eye on Debian.

Thanks
