noob

hello, I am really interested in the project,
I want to buy the xm board,
but before. I just want to ask you guys some questions,
what is the prefered way to buy it if I needed sent to Sydney
asutralia?

what other peripherals do I need to make it work?
will it just connect the usb keyboard and mouse? and just plug the
video pc screen?
How to connect it to an arduino? usb? or serial? or i2c?

I just dont want to have a surprise that I needed another thing to
make it work out of the box other than installing the OS,
thank you

pd, sorry for the basic question, I've been reading on the board but
just want to make sure

cheers

Hi,

I purchased my BB-xM on Digikey (I'm in Sydney too).

Peripherals (you definitely need 5V power supply and COM-port cable):

right corner of the page.

Cheers,
Max.

Digikey has the XM board as does specialcomputing.com. I got mine from the
latter and feel they did a good job getting it to me. SpecialComp makes it easy to get all the essential accessories since they kind of specialize in Beagle and other Linux boards.

Depending on what you have, the minimum you need is:
    - a 5v regulated supply $10
    - RS232 cable - DB9 straight (not null modem) most likely a USB-RS232
type ~$10
    - You'll almost certainly want an Ethernet cable to minimally connect to your router for access to a TFTP server. Then if you get the demo image you can surf the net.
