OMAP 4 BB

Samples should be getting close, quote:

TI's OMAP 4 platform and development tools are expected to sample in
the second half of 2009, with production expected by the second half
of 2010. These products are intended for high-volume wireless OEMs and
ODMs and are not available through distributors.

Any chance when these go into production in the second half of 2010 to
put them in a BB? Has the BB helped Ti that much? It certainly
didn't hurt, an OMAP 4 Beagle Board would help the chip I would
think. I've already pre-ordered two devices based on the current
Beagle Board, the Pandora and the Touch Book, both small companies
that wouldn't be able to make these devices if not for the Beagle
Board.

The first OMAP4 devices that are coming out are only half speed devcies. The plan for Beagle is to wait until we have full working devices which won’t be until sometime next year. Based on that date, we will then start looking at an OMAP4 version of the Beagle.

When you do, please consider routing PTM to a connector. Please?
Pretty please? Pretty please with sugar on?

Any chance of getting a revision of the current OMAP3 BB with ETM pins
routed to a connector?

I will take it into consideration and I will need to weigh the cost impact of adding two additional layers to make it happen. If enough people ask for it, then it will go onto the short list.

Gerald

I am very interested in a BB 4

If you can give me a cost per unit, I need 10 units please

Thanks,

Chris

I appreciate your interest, but it does not exist. We have no plans to even start looking at a OMAP4 version design before April of next year. As such, I cannot give you a quote for any quantity.

Is there a BB with the OMAP 3640 in our future

There are plansfor the OMAP3730. Beagle is based on the TI catalog offering and not the wireless group. Most likely it will be the next version out late this year depending on how things go.
