I recently found this, I’ll give it a try:

This worked and now the FlashPro5 is identified correctly with 1514/2008 VID/PID and is visible in FPExpress.
Might be a good idea to add a note to that Microchip forum thread to show that this was not an isolated case. It does sound like the FTDI chip within the FlashPro5 was not programmed on the manufacturing line.
