Oprofile in Angstrom

Hi,

I am not able to make this work. Any ideas ?

I have used Oprofile (0.9.3) in 2.6.22 kernel by following similar steps (http://oprofile.sourceforge.net/docs/) . I have experienced problems mentioned (http://markmail.org/message/d3zlmmro55ciywww#query:beagleboard%20oprofile+page:1+mid:iyukqyfvstn66xmd+state:results) then.

But now, so far I tried 10 times in Angstrom, always got " error: No sample file found", irrespective of doing opcontrol --dump. Is there anything missing - I have attached console log below.

I am using Angstrom 2009.X-test-20090212 (METADATA_REVISION = "93a71b759a3474760cbe1cf1f51de710b22d709f")

Hi,

You can tweak kernel to use a standard timer instead of Cortex-A8
performance monitoring unit in oprofile driver. An immediate drawback
is a rather low samples collection frequency (~100Hz) which may
require to run your tests longer to get relevant profiling results.
Alternatively it is possible to use a timer with higher resolution in
oprofile driver.
