pandora's power number

Gentlemen,

Just read about Pandora here http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS2315196306.html?kc=rss
Looks very interesting.

Could anyone tell me the power consumption of the whole system?
Help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Guo

Dear gentlemen – about Pandora, how are the schematics licensed, also open source ? Otherwise it is less interesting for open source developer’s community …

My personal beagleboard is drawing 0.31A at VCC = 5.0V (running the “Beagle-dog” demo application on a DVD-D monitor) …

Best regards,

Michel Heuts

ps. Use a clean PSU/wall adaptor – not a dirty wall adaptor. (You need a stable 5.0V power rail)

The pandora will last for 10 hours (playing games) or 100 hours (playing mp3s) off a 4000mAh battery pack.

Therefor the pandora must be drawing about 400mA at when it is working hard.

And more importantly, what box will they use?

Thanks,

400mA @ what voltage?

That I was not able to figure out.

I could not find voltage details about the battery.

Opps, I just noticed you were looking for Power (VI)

V would be somewhere between 4 - 5V (prob 4) making the Wattage 1.6 - 2.0 Watts

If the whole system only takes <= 2.0 watts. That will make it too sweet to be true

Most devices like these use Li-Ion cells which are 3.7V.

I am just going on the battery life.

I thought that the beagle used about 2.0W and it does not have a screen on it.

Have you posted your question on the Pandora Forum?

No. I am not aware of Pandora Forum until you posted the link.
