quake2

Hi,

I am facing below problem in running quake2.
I have built the rootfs for beagle board with quake2 package.
Please tell if any other steps need to be taken.
Should the Linux kernel need dsp support for quake to run ?

Regards,
Robin

root@beagleboard:/usr/bin# ./quake2
Quake 2 -- Version 3.21+r0.16

writing

default.cfg

Console

I am also facing the same problem. I downloaded quake2 package from
opkg install command. I tried installing quake3 but it seems to fail
due to a dependency package not being available in the repo. What are
the correct repos for opkg? I am also noticing that package feed
browser on angstrom website doesn't match the list of packages in
opkg. Is it because of wrong default repos?

This is what we do, bootargs looks as shown below

setenv bootargs omapfb.mode=dvi:800x480MR-16@60 omapdss.def_disp=dvi
omapfb.vram=0:8M,1:4M console=ttyS2,115200n8 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2
rootwait rootfstype=ext3

Hope you have proper Filesystem Image built for quake.

(1) After booting, login as root
(2) /etc/init.d/gpe-dm stop
(3) cd /usr/lib/quake3
(4) ./run.sh

Let me know if this helps.

Khasim

Hi,

1. I have modified the beagleboard-demo-image.bb file to include quake
game, as below.

IMAGE_INSTALL = "\
    ${XSERVER} \
    ${ANGSTROM_EXTRA_INSTALL} \
    task-beagleboard-demo \
    task-base-extended \
    ioquake3 \
    quake1 \
    quake2 \
    sdlquake \

2. Then, bitbake beagleboard-demo-image
3. Running quake3 gives
                root@beagleboard:/usr/lib# ioquake3.arm
                ioq3 1.35 linux-arm Jan 15 2009
