Removal of P3 USB connector?

Gerald,

Any recommendations on the easiest way to remove the P3 mini USB header
on a BeagleBone? I notice there's glue of some sort.

Any risk with just hitting it with hot air to pull the connector? What
kind of glue is it?

Thanks,
Andrew

It is an epoxy to prevent the pads form being pulled from the PCB. I doubt very much it will be easy to pull of with out damage to the board. Butt hat may be OK for your needs.

Do you have a part number for the epoxy used?
Hitting it with hot air makes quite a smell but the epoxy does get
slightly mailable. But the effort required is quite high.

Possibly some solvent would eat the epoxy?

Let me see what I can find out.

Gerald

I am still checking, but the initial response was that they use a heat gun.
