Robert Nelson kernel: failed to register BeagleBone LCD cape LED / kobject_add_internal failed for leds-gpio with -EEXIST, don't try to register things with the same name in the same directory.

Hi,

I am using Robert Nelsons kernel:

    Linux beaglebone 3.2.30-psp23

. I stacked together the following capes:

On the LCD7 cape at the place for the beaglebone I put
first the AUDIO cape, then onto that the Beaglebone.
At the place for the capes I put first the RS232 Cape
and then a breadboard cape (which currently is an empty
PCD only).
All capes have different EEPROM addresses.

When booting the kernel, I see the following messages (marked with "!!!")

With the LCD and the Beaglebone only, I can see the heartbeat on one
of the LCD LEDs. Now both LEDs are constantly bright.
One of the two LEDS on the AUDIO cape cannot be altered from userspace
(using /sys/...).

(The LCD display function is not limited by this problem.)

How can I fix the problem?

Thank you very much in advance for any help!
Best regards,
mcc

Well, I only have the lcd board... So since you have the hardware, and
this community has setup all the software tools/scripts for you, you
might have to get your hands dirty and look at the board file, as it
looks like it re-muxed a few pins that were already muxed with
something else..

It looks like it's one of the led's on the lcd that is already set to
something else..

Hi Robert,

thank you for your help!

The only thing which concerns me is, that a non specific part of the
the sysfs seems to create at least twice. This is not related to
a certain double-mux of a gpio but a possible kernel bug.

Only my two cent...

Best regards.
