Sawtooth wave on Beagleboard?

Hello,

I am a newbie to the beagleboard and I was wondering if its possible to output a voltage sawtooth wave(maybe via rs-232 serial?). I know you can output a sine wave through the audio out functionality.

Thanks,
Parth

You'll need a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter). Many such exist, and the choice depends on your comfort with hardware as well as the particulars of what you are trying to accomplish.

If the board has audio out capibility you should be able to output ANY
arbitrary audio frequency waveform, not just sine waves. What
frequency range were you interested in generating and what level of
distortion can you tolerate? what is the application?
