saying hello to fellow beagleboarders

Hi,
the way I found out about the beagleboard and what I think about it and
what I would use it for is written here:

Perhaps some people on this list know me already. I am contributing to
OpenEmbedded[0] through the Jalimo[1] project and as such care mainly
for the Java stuff.

I am looking forward to see the hardware being produced and sold.

Regards
Robert

Feel free to send testcases for the java float stuff to the
mailinglist, my beagleboard is eagerly awaiting tests and
benchmarks

Koen

Unfortunately the code already jumps out before you can anything. The
only machine that I have and supports FPU is an N800 and doing debugging
for/on this is a pain since I need to step into JIT compiled code. I am
waiting for a beagleboard to throw GDB on it.

I am also interested whether it makes sense to let the codegenerator
emit NEON instructions.

Hi,

Have you tried debugging using radare[1] ? It has support for many
platforms ( including the N800 ) and may not be hard at all to run on
beagle. I have tried it on the mistral evm and works alright, though I
have not had much time to do nice tests...

If you want to try it I suggest going for the mercurial version, it is
under rapid development.

Just my two cents... And by the way hello! ( though I have no beagleboard )

Welcome to Beagle board and many thanks for the info, your two cents are really worth.

Many thanks for this info, will it be possible to give more info on
Which verion you pulled?
How to compile?
How to debug?

May be all these are well documented, I thought it might be good to give a quick try than reading the stuff - bit lazy u see

I am sure many are looking for more debugging environments…

Hi,

I just pulled the last version from mercurial and on the desktop PC I did :

# hg clone http://radare.nopcode.org/hg/radare

Thanks a lot for your info, we should try this some time, it will definitely
give us some good debbuging facility for Beagle.

Please do update us for more info in future.

Thanks & Regards,
Khasim

Hi All,

Can you tell me if the beaglebord supports the ARM TrustZone extension?
I think I have seen a flyer with this information on it. However, I didn't find anything about it in the reference manual.

regards,
Kurt

Partially. You can write TrustZone software, but there is no root-of-
trust as these are general-purposes devices, not bound to any key.
