has anyone success using a splash screen using CONFIG_SPLASH_SCREEN of
u-boot with the beagle?

My problem is that I do not know where I can put an image in the flash...

AFAIK the official version of u-boot doesn't support the OMAP3 DSS.
The last time I checked the Beagleboard version of u-boot just
initialized the DSS and loads the image into the DSS buffer. It
doesn't care about any config options, it's all hard coded.
