splash screen

I am using Ubuntu lucid package with Kernel and minimal rootfs from http://www.rcn-ee.net/deb/.

When the device boots I do not see any spalsh screen. But displays all the kernel messages of loading drivers.etc.etc…

I do see that there is plymouth splash screen installed. has anyone got splash screen working on beagle using ubuntu?
it works using psplash on Angstorm.

Any help??

Thanks
Arun

It'll work better in Maverick. cwillu was working on a patch last i
read on irc.. plymouth, ubuntu's spashscreen looks for kms drivers,
you can make it look better by switching the order of tty0 and ttyS2
in your boot.scr..

Regards,

Ok… so are you suggesting that with maverick it will work out of the box?

I did.
Just isntall plymouth from packages,
sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth
sudo update-initramfs -i -k all
/boot/uboot/tools/update_boot_files.sh

Maaaybe you might need to run

echo FRAMEBUFFER=y > /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash
