Suggestion for 3G modem for Beaglebone Ubuntu?

Hi all,

I am researching for 3G modem to use with Beaglbone (running Ubuntu). From what I have research so far, it seems like there is not a single modem that works seamlessly. (driver-wise)

Anyone have any suggestions?

This may be cheating but...
Use a 3g Wifi Hotspot. With all the roaming list and firmware updates the carriers send out 3G modems can be pain.

That is one option, but we are hoping to explore 3G modem option more. Would you suggest any?

I have a huawei e160g that worked out of the box with Ubuntu.
