Suggestion for next version of DVI cape

I notice that pictures of the DVI cape show that the P8/P9 connectors are
not provided as sockets, just pins. This means that this cape can only be
put on the top of a capestack. The SRM suggests that up to 4 capes can be
stacked up.

Can I suggest that when the next version is produced, sockets with long tails
should be used rather than just the downward pin headers.

David

I have already suggested that.

You my want to check here:

I got the information that the upper socket was not present from the
Farnell web page:-

http://uk.farnell.com/circuitco/beaglebone-dvi-d-cape/board-beaglebone-dvi-d-
cape/dp/2075705

(sorry that wrapped).

The pictures and those in the datasheet show the problematic form. I suppose
they might just be old pictures, but it would be better to get the right
pictures if this was just a documentation error.

Does anyone know what is actually shipping?

David

The female socket should be shipping.

Gerald

The female socket should be shipping.

Excellent. If it is just Farnell who have the wrong picture I will let
them know, but I suppose the old image and datasheet might be wider
spread through the distribution chain.

The DVI cape that is shipping is the one featured at 1:30 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qducgQ0jAHw
