Testing Serial Devices connected on the USB

Hi All,

I want to run a simple terminal program on the BeagleBoard so I can
check USB devices like USB modems and USB GPS dongles.

I tried to compile minicom but the make fails on several messages
about too many arguments in window.c

My BeagleBoard is not connected to the internet yet so I have come to
the dead end.

Anybody found a way or can suggest a way to check out serial device on
the USB.

Thanks,

MPC.

If you're running Windows, you should be able to use HyperTerminal:

Start->Programs->Accessories->Communications->HyperTerminal

Or, if you're on Linux, you can check if minicom is in your
distributions repositories (probably is). I'm using Ubuntu, which has
minicom pre-compiled in one of the PPA repositories:

sudo aptitude install minicom
