I had no trouble mounting a share using CIFS using Ubuntu Precise 12.04 armhf. I loaded a different Beaglebone up with the may 2012 build of angstom and I haven’t been able to mount a network drive. I have no problem sharing my Beaglebone’s shared directories on a Windows machine, but I cannot for the life of me get a Windows share mounted on the Bone!
My /etc/fstab currently reads:
//[IP of share host]/[share directory] /media/[share] cifs credentials=/home/root/.smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 0 0
Which works fine in Ubuntu armhf… When I attempt ‘mount -a’, I get an error code (19) and an error cifs filesytem not supported by the system. I’ve spent hours pouring over the http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/repo/ dbase looking for a kernel module or package that would fix the error, but I can’t find a kernel-module-smbfs or kernel-module-cifs file that is compatible with the armv7a architecture. Is there some issue I’m unaware of? Ideas?
