trouble with keyboard and mouse

i have been posting the smallest of my problems i have been facing and
getting help. thanks for the help but now i have encountered another
problem. the usb port is powering up my ps2 mouse but its not working.
i have read quit a few posts that say to get a hub with external
power. and that should solve the usb issue. but i wanna use serial
keyboard and mouse with usb to serial converter. please help. and
thanks in advance.

P.S: board is rev c4, and kernel is 2.6.32 angstrom!

Hello Babar,
a solution would be to connect an usb hub with 4 inputs (for example)
either to the OTG connector or to the USB port. You can connect your
mouse and an USB converter where your keyboard would be connected.
You could also connect your BeagleBoard using serial connection or
ethernet to a computer and control your board from there.

freddy i am using illume x11 interface. that basically looks as if it
meant for touch screen devices. will it directly support external
keyboard and mouse. i dont want to throw money into buying externally
powered hub for nothing. please confirm it cause i searched net but
found nothing relevant.

the BB C4 EHCI port is high speed only, so in order to connect a
keyboard or mouse
you need a (powered) usb hub.

If you are saying that you tried to connect your Illume x11 interface
to BB's USB connector and it does not work, you should probably give
it a try with an USB hub. I am currently using Digitus Hub DA-70215,
it can easily be found for around 6 or 8 Euros in Europe. I still
don't use the power cable even though there is keyboard, mouse and USB/
ethernet adapter connected to my hub.

thanks alot usb power hub was all it needed!
