I have already install the GUI on my ubuntu
However the second time I logged in the system,
the xubuntu didn't show the icons on the destop.
I can not use the desktop anymore.
Has Anyone met the problem?

I think i'm going to start asking for screen shots since your question
is wide open.... But I'm betting you started xterm instead of xfce4,
so recheck at the gdm login screen that you've selected to start a
xfce4 session vs. a xterm session...
