Unable to interface LCD monitor.

Hello,

I am unable to interface Beaglebone Black with LCD monitor. I have tried with updating latest eMMC and micro SD card updates. But all in vein.
I also tried to force resolution using serial cable.

I am using micro HDMI to HDMI converter cable bought from Crazy pi. My monitor is acer, it does not have hdmi port. So i am using HDMI to VGA converter. I also tried all resolutions, but all in vein.
I also tried the following command:

root@beaglebone:~# “cd /sys/class/drm/card0/card0-HDMI-A-1/”
-sh: cd /sys/class/drm/card0/card0-HDMI-A-1/: No such file or directory
root@beaglebone:~# cd /sys/class/drm/card0/card0-HDMI-A-1/
root@beaglebone:/sys/class/drm/card0/card0-HDMI-A-1# parse-edid edid
parse-edid: parse-edid version 2.0.0
parse-edid: IO error reading EDID
root@beaglebone:/sys/class/drm/card0/card0-HDMI-A-1#

Kindly guide me to rectify the problem
