Updating older beaglebone black kernel - System.map-xxx

I have rebuilt kernel using bb-kernel branch am33x-v3.8 via vagrant with xenial box.

All seems to be going well and newer (but still old) appears to be up and running.

I do notice a file in /boot that is not updated and am not sure if this is an issue or not.

I have left over file System.map-3.8.13bone68 which is about 2MB in size - is this something I should be concerned about or can I ignore it?
