USB camera interfacing with BBB rev C

Hello

I am trying to interface Logitech C720p with BBB rev C with debian. Followed as instructed here. I installed usb-modeswitch-data package too with

sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch-data

but camera BBB doesn’t show camera in /dev when i run
ls /dev/video*

Here is the uname -a output

debian@beaglebone:~$ uname -a Linux beaglebone 3.8.13-bone50 #1 SMP Tue May 13 13:24:52 UTC 2014 armv7l GNU/Linux

Please help me making it work. Thanks in advance.

hello,

what is the output of lsusb and dmesg ?
are you sure the cam is a C720p as I don’t find any reference to this webcam on the logitech support site?
have you tried the cam on another linux box ?
