USB or networkOverUsb disabled

  • I was trying to setup internet sharing between win8 and BBB over ethernet cable(not crossover cable). But fail to get it right. Is it because that I didn’t use crossover cable? I head that Ras Pi can detect rx and tx, so that crossover cable is not necessary.

  • Anyway, set a bridge between my wifi(the one has internet access) and local(BBB) seems working. However, when I tried to set a bridge between network_usb and local, everything goes wrong.

  • The putty session disconnected(I was using putty ssh to network_usb:192.168.7.2).

  • So I do not have access to the board, I push the reset button

  • Now, even when I connect the board to computer, there is no usb device been detected.

  • When I ifconfig in BBB, I can only see eth0 and lo, usb is gone.
How can I get it back? Thanks in advance.

Try plugging in your BBB to your computer again and checking the device manager.
Right click My Computer, and go to properties. On the left hand side, click Device Manager.
Do you see any devices with a yellow exclamation mark? If you do, that might be your BBB. Try updating your drivers again and see if your computer reads BBB again.
You can install drivers here (http://beagleboard.org/Getting%20Started#step2)

If you don’t see a yellow exclamation mark, check Ports (COM & LPT). Your BBB should be labeled Gadget Serial (COM#).
You can look here to set up PuTTY on your BBB (http://circuitco.com/support/index.php?title=Terminal_Shells)

I do not see any device. No COM, no massive device. And when I ifconfig on BBB, the usb is gone, left only eth0 and lo.
I think the problem is on BBB not pc, seems like usb driver on BBB is not working.
