webcam in, video (via LCD) out

Hello, I am looking into playing with the Beagle Board and I was
wondering if there was any video gotchyas I should watch out for.
Looking at some of the other threads, it looks like as long as I get
the latest code and used an approved webcam (one where the drivers
work in Linux), capturing video shouldn't be a problem. If I then
wanted to shoot that video out the HDMI port to display on an LCD
screen (like they do over here: http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardRawLCD),
should that be pretty straightforward as well, or are there some
catches with screen/video formatting I will need to worry about?

Thanks.
