What is task-beagleboard-demo ipk? Where to learn to modify and compile Angstorm?

http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/repo/?pkgname=task-beagleboard-demo
See the above link for task-beagleboard-demo ipk package for Angstrom.
What does it do and is it required for beagleboard? It seems to have
lots of useless dependencies like gnome-games package. I will want to
get rid of it.

Is there a better source for descriptions of packages for Angstrom.

I am newbie to embedded linux and open source. Where can I learn (URL
or book) to modify and build Angstrom with only the packages I want?
Does it support menuconfig or gconfig etc? Angstrom manual at
linuxgoto is a single package which is outdated.

Does Openembedded always build the latest Angstorm? The tutorial on
elinux tells to use stable/2008.1 Hasn't there been a newer version
since then?

Is there a way to use scratchbox sbrsh and compile angstorm? There
seems to no info regarding this even on google search results. Is this
because its an inferior way of doing it?

I will be grateful for any guidance.

After doing the steps on this page http://wiki.openembedded.net/index.php/Getting_Started
you will
have the Open Embedded repository, in that repository there is a docs/
usermanual directory which
will have most of the information you want.

Try starting with console-image, or one of the other bb files in images.
