What is the most stable image for audio on the BBC4 ?

Hello All. What are your recommendations? I have looked at many images
today and booted some of them. There are more than a few out there.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Matt.

Depends on what you need. I was able to get the Angstrom onboard
sound to work with angstrom-2010.x (building from source), but jack
didn't work. I switched to Ubuntu Maverick following the instructions
on the elinux wiki to build my own image
(http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu). Onboard sound didn't work
here, but I'm able to use an offboard USB M-Audio FastTrack Pro using
jackd. I had to set my latency extremely high (around 500ms), but it
works remarkably well in that setup with Supercollider. (See my
earlier post on this issue:
https://groups.google.com/group/beagleboard/browse_thread/thread/9f5569509e991075
) I'm using it for a robotic/sound installation that's going live on
Monday; some details about the specific Beagleboard issues can be
found here: http://afflator.ontopoeticmachines.org/diary . With this
setup I'm doing FFTs on input, generating sound in real-time, and
sending data via OSC to a python script that controls four servo
motors...all without any problems or processing bottlenecks so far.

Do let the list know about any successes or issues you have with
audio, as I'm still not happy with the extreme latencies I have to
have in jackd in order to remove nasty noise in the output.

Replying to my own post to say that my experience was with the
Beagleboard-xM, and not the Beagleboard C4 as the original post.
