When Beagleboard can support Full HD 1080p video?

At presetn MIPS’ SoC can do 1080p video. When TI release HD 1080p SoC? Is there plan to adapt Beagleboard for 1080p SoC?

I assume you're thinking of a chip from Broadcom or similar. MIPS is
only a CPU core, and to my knowledge no MIPS processor is capable of
decoding 1080p video.

Several are available today. Look at the DaVinci DM646x and DM365 chips.

There will no doubt be a similar low-cost board based on OMAP4 when it
becomes available next year.

He may mean "be able to output 1080p" - as in, configure the internal
video system to drive a 1080p display.

If so, the question would be "Do you mean 1080p24, 1080p60, or ?"

Sigma Design has provided MIPS SoC that can decode and play
Full HD 1080p or Blu-ray class video now. One of its key advantage
is the low power consumption. It will be great if OMAP4 has the
same capability.
