which file of X11 is used as kernel?

Hi,
I have just built X11 kernel by command bitbake X11-image. I just don’t sure which file I should use to boot the kernel instead of uImage?

Best regards,
Thang Nguyen

But after build the X11-image, I want to know which files I should copy to SD card.
Is it right if I use these files:

Disk1:
+MLO
+u-boot.bin
+uImage
Disk2:
+unzip Angstrom-x11-image-glibc-ipk-2009.X-stable-beagleboard.rootfs.tar.bz2

I built X11-image after console-image, I didn’t see of an update version of uImage so I don’t know if I should use the uImage or should I force the compiler recompile the uImage?

Best regards,
Thang Nguyen

Hello Thang,

The X Window System is all userland. The kernel shouldn’t be any different.

The file system will be much larger than the one you get from ‘console-image’ with the addition of X Server, libs, fonts and demo apps.

Beside that, I think you need to untar the Angstrom-x11-image-glibc-ipk-2009.X-stable-beagleboard.rootfs.tar.bz2 to the ext partition of the SD card
