Why does my startup application take so long to run?

I recently made the switch from the BBW to the BBB and noticed a huge performance decrease. In the BBW, I used the minimal Angstrom rootfs image (2012.05) and when I call my Qt application in a startup script it loaded rather quickly (<2 seconds). In the BBB, I also used the minimal Angstrom rootfs image (2012.12) and it takes about 15-20 seconds before my Qt application is running. I can tell that my startup script is running immediately when in user space, but my last line when I call my Qt application seems to take forever. Any idea what may be causing this lag? Thanks,

what does cpufreq-info say before and while the application is running? Aside from that your question is rather vague. Yes, your application is starting up slower by X amount. But what hardware does the application use and how ? Also there seems to be a difference in Angstrom images too so . . . something else for you to research.

For instance, the BBB has no SGX drivers at this point in time.
