Why stop at XP? With the cost of flash coming down all the time you really should be
looking at using as much as you can. Vista (for embedded) comes to your rescue here:

“Footprint XP Pro: 128 MB RAM; 1.5 GB hard drive
Windows Vista: 1GB RAM; 40 GB hard drive”
