xM - Ubuntu 10.10 w ALSA

Hi everybody,
I am having problems with ubuntu 10.10 and Alsa.
aplay, arecord, mplayer,... wont work... even if using aplay -l I can
see the omap3 audio device.

I've found http://groups.google.com/group/beagleboard/browse_thread/thread/e1eaedbc9b763b0f
Could someone explain how to compile/use the kernel?

Thanks in advance!

I think i've taken care of it in this kernel:

http://rcn-ee.net/deb/maverick/v2.6.37-x1/linux-image-2.6.37-x1_1.0maverick_armel.deb

/bin/bash install script:

http://rcn-ee.net/deb/maverick/v2.6.37-x1/install-me.sh

Regards,

I've build up the system using RootStock and following this guide:
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#Build_an_Ubuntu_root_file_system_with_RootStock

in this way:
sudo rootstock --fqdn beagleboard --login my_user --password my_pwd --
imagesize 1G --dist maverick --serial ttyS2 --seed aptitude,btrfs-
tools,i2c-tools,nano,pastebinit,uboot-envtools,uboot-
mkimage,usbutils,wget,wireless-tools,wpasupplicant --components "main
universe multiverse" --kernel-image
http://rcn-ee.net/deb/maverick/v2.6.37-x1/linux-image-2.6.37-x1_1.0maverick_armel.deb

My BB stucks with:
Starting kernel ...
Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.

What's wrong?

SOLVED!
Many thanks to Robert!
