xserver-xorg-video-omap3 installation problem - Beagleboard Xm

I was trying to install the gui on minimal demo image. But couldn't
make it.

I got the following errors while installing xserver

Command:
sudo aptitude install xfce4 gdm xubuntu-gdm-theme xubuntu-artwork

Can you tell me how to start the xserver for beagleboard.

I have installed the xserver-xorg-video-omap3 and xfce4. And
connected the LCD to the hdmi cable.

After installation of the minimal image we have to install the xserver-
xorg and we should run by command "startx". But I couldn't find the
command. Does it have another command? Or any special settings. So
please let me know.

I had run the X and Xorg to load the xserver. But I think, it searches
for the PCI device and we are using the framebuffer. And did not get
the display on LCD.

The framebuffer is actually loaded by the kernel.. The 'fake' driver
xserver-video-omap3 just writes to the fb... Is X not taking over the
screen?

LCD model is BENQ G2220HD.

Also I have tried to set the "omapfb.debug=y" in boot.cmd but it
doesn't work. Do I need to set up the SD card again by changing the

Is there any way that we can get rid of the gdm and start xserver
directly from the rc.local without using the login window for openbox?
Because I have un-installed the gdm and xubuntu-gdm-themes and tried
to load the openbox directly. But it doesn't work.

Which wiki? it's about 6 months out of date and needs to be edited so
other users don't fall into the same issue.. I didn't start rolling in
xm fixes till 2.6.34

Sorry, My mistake copy paste typo. I have sent you the rootstock
command with wrong version of kernel.

I have used the command from lucid only
