ADCs and DACs on Beagle Board.

Hi,

I went through the BB homepage and various other resources but still I
am not clear about certain things. We have a project fin which we
input and output analog audio signals. We sample the input and output
audio signals at sampling frequency of 192 KHz. Does BB has ADCs and
DACs with 192 (or even 96) KHz sampling rate? Any suggestions or links
to appropriate material will be useful.

Hi Abhishek,

BeagleBoard HW support Audio output up to 48kHz and input up to 96kHz
sampling rate.
More info can be found in the TRM for TPS65950 (swcu050b.pdf) chapter 14...

Hi Soren,

Thanks for your reply. I think you put it other way. It has 16-bit
linear audio stereo DAC (96, 48, 44.1, and 32 kHz, and derivatives)
and 16-bit linear audio stereo ADC (48, 44.1, and 32 kHz, and
derivatives). Do you have any idea of analog modulators that could be
used with BB?

You are right - I mixed up the RX and TX directions - Sorry. Furthermore
take care, that the 96kHz sampling mode is only available for audio output
only => No input at the same time...

With respect to other codecs please search the mailing list, since I
remember somebody earlier having a similar discussing (1-2 months ago I
think - The mails might contain the word TDM AFAIR). I don't remember the
thread in detail, but it might give you some valuable information...

I personally don't know of any other preferable codecs but I would assume,
that both TI and Analog have stuff which could be used

Good luck
Søren
