alsa

hi all,
I m new in new in beagleboard project.I m using Angstrom
linux
v 2.6.27 on beagleboard.I want to enable alsa module on that.
Plz can any one help me to port Alsa drivers and utills like aplay
and arecord on beagleboard.
I have tried narcissus builder for build the rootfs with alsa but
their is no option for selecting the kernel version and i have 2.6.27
kernel.

Hello,

You might look at the SD card images here: https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~eberdahl/Satellite/
Sometimes Alsa doesn't work, but then you can usually use jack.

Best,
Edgar

I believe buildroot (http://buildroot.uclibc.org/) will get you that.
It has a menuconfig like interface for customizing and I remember
seeing ALSA options in that.

But I am not sure how Angstrom works with buildroot. I use a standard
kernel from kernel.org (currently I am using 2.6.36.4) for uImage and
buildroot ( I use 2011.05) for making root file system.

Another quick way is to look at the following link from Max Galemin.
It is for 2.6.39.1 kernel. I didn't tried that, though.

Thank you,

It doesn't, I left buildroot behind about 8 years ago since it didn't scale. If you want to build angstrom, go to the angstrom website (http://angstrom-distribution.org/) and either read the news items or click on the "developers" tab.

ALSA is already on the Beagle. Try [1] to see what's there.

On the Beagle a simple opkg install ..... should work.
