arecord and aplay commands not found

Hi,
     I am using 2.6.22.18 omap3 kernal.I am booting from card.
But if i try to give arecord -t wav -c 2 -r 44100 -f S16_LE -v k or
"aplay" it is showing arecord and aplay command not found.
Any suggestions regarding this.Anything will be helpful
