BB Black battery backup

We are developing a product using the BBB. With battery backup to allow a safe shutdown of the BBB and a safe restart of the application. The BBB charges the Li ION cell OK but when the AC power to the BBB via the 5 volt DC jack is switched off, the BBB draws approx 80mA from the Li ION cell and does not go into low current sleep mode. Can anyone assist in fixing this issue please as TI do not wish to support the BBB which is surprising considering that most of the major chips are TI ones!

Any assistance wold be most welcome

Have you posted this issue to e2e.ti.com and can you provide back a link to
that so I can use it to follow-up internally at TI?

Have you looked at what is drawing the power on the board? Have you
triggered the software to go into low-current sleep mode?

There was a thread on this topic a while back and one of the solutions was a hardware modification to the BBB (all since rev A6, I think). The problem was the VDD_3V3A would not go low enough to shut U4 down. Solution was to connect U4 pin 1 (EN) to VDD_3V3AUX.

Not sure if a better solution has been found.
