BB XM + Ubuntu playing HD video: How to?

Hello,

I've downloaded and installed, successfully, Maverick 10.10 notebook
edition + SGX driver. Default desktop runs very slow so I decided to
move to LXDE. I've also installed gstreamer0.10.

I've tried to play HD using media player and vlc player: video is
played but very very wrong. What am I doing wrong?

I tought that the distribution I installed perhaps is not ready is to
use the DSP. Is that the problem?

Thank you.

Yeap, the dsp isn't currently used, for that distribution start
reading up on dspbridge and gst-dsp..

Regards,

even using the dsp you cannot play HD as currently no HD capable "free"
dsp codec exists.

What a shame!

Anyway, I've tried to modify the system to use DSP according to:

http://elinux.org/BeagleBoard/DSP_Howto
http://omappedia.org/wiki/DSPBridge_Project

It has been impossible to me: "make uImage" returns me
many many many questions about the config that I have no idea in what
to answer...

Actually, upgrade to my 2.6.37-rc's image.

There's a couple of us still trying to figure out the dsp bits too,
the kernel modules seem to at-least work for now...

http://rcn-ee.net/deb/maverick/v2.6.37-rc7-dl4/install-me.sh

Then follow the Work In Progress section

http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#Work_In_Progress

Can't promise anything as i haven't seen anything work yet, but it
seems to be close...
